Never Again

On Remembrance Day here in Canada, Veterans’ Day in the US, I came across this haunting photo from the Pacific theater in WWII. It inspired the few lines from me below:

Eyes that stare at everything and nothing
Vacant but filled with the abyss
Horrors seen and horrors committed
Shells of former boys, former men
They stare back through endless history
And say, “Never forget. Never again.”
