Self portrait, 2017 Marker, Pen & Ink on color diffusing paper
This self portrait ended up looking a lot angrier and darker than I intended. Perhaps it was just reflective of my mood at the time. At any rate, it is another experiment with the color diffusing paper I bought for my art class last week. I drew the image with pen and ink first, then added marker and sprayed the drawing with water. While the paper was still damp, I added more color and shading. The paper is opaque so in this photo the image has picked up a bit of the color and grain of the wooden table top it is sitting on.
Below is the backside of the drawing. The pen lines have pretty much disappeared, making this look even more stark. Stark… well, Winter is Coming.
